It is official: I want my future girlfriend to be exactly like Isla Fisher's character in "Definitely, Maybe." Because I am comfortable enough to admit this, I watched this movie by myself Saturday night. Let that sink in for a moment. This is a movie that a male should not be watching by himself, but I'll be honest: I really liked the movie. I've always been a huge fan of Ryan Reynolds (check out "Buying The Cow", a little-known movie that's absolutely hilarious) and now my search for the Isla Fisher of Indiana continues. But why use this movie as an opening for the links? Only because this is definitely, maybe the year we finally win a MAC title in football.Just ask...ESPN's Mark Schlereth, who has pinpointed us for the Motor City Bowl (which means MAC TITLE!) against Iowa. And let me tell you something, the Iowans are THRILLED! Wait..no, they are not. The Sporting News has also jumped in on the fun, picking the Mighty Bird to win the MAC. Northern Illinois fans are unhappy, Buffalo fans are unhappy and I'm sure Central Michigan fans are as well. THIS IS THE YEAR!
I'm not sure I'd put this year's Ball State-Indiana game in the Top 10 Underrated Non-Conference games, but it's a definite win for BSU. I find the Central-Georgia game much, much more intriguing. But the owner of this particular blog thinks BSU has a shot for a BCS game. (In the Bleachers)
Andrew DeYoung has dreamed of playing baseball at BSU since he was a freshman, and now he's going to get a chance to play. (The Times of Northwest Indiana)
Future Ball State baseball player Justin Warrington is featured in an article about how throwing breaking pitches at ayoung age ruins arms. (Newark Advocate)
Keeping on baseball, Tim Issler is expected to fill the shoes of Dean Anna, who was drafted by San Diego. (Ball State Daily News)
Let's talk recruiting! We'll start with basketball, where the men's basketball team has offered Muncie Central's Jeremiah Davis, who already has offers from Kentucky and Indiana. Gee, which school is he going to choose? (The Star Press)...looks we're after this big man, 6-7 Kevin Janowski. (America Least)
Football...this stuff isn't good news...Columbus' Bradley McDougald is going to Ohio State, Reggie Taylor is going to Auburn, and we're in trouble with a few others. I've seen the Shenard Holton highlight tapes and he won't end up in Muncie, a lot of schools are after Marquise Stephens, and hopefully we'll end up with Zach Anderson at DT.
