Sean, you're a fine boy

From the "least surprising award of the week" award, it was announced that Ball State freshman Sean Baker was named the MAC West Defensive Player of the Week.

Most important, please go vote for Sean on the USA Today Web site. He is one of the five finalists for USA Today's National Player of the Week. VOTE FOR SEAN! NOW!

Baker tied a school record with three interceptions and also returned a fumble for 33 yards and a touchdown in a 41-24 win at Akron. Baker was also credited with a pass break up, two solo tackles and seven assisted tackles in the Cardinals league opener. Baker scooped up an errant ball and scored to give the Cardinals a 24-10 margin. He was named the Walter Camp Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in the game.

Since I don't want to make a full post about this, I'll slip it here on the bottom. ESPN's Graham Watson just bumped us up to No. 4 in the Non-BCS/Independent Power Rankings.
