The biggest game in the history of Ball State football

It's here.

Ever since the 58-38 embarrassment Ball State endured, we've been pointing to this day.

We knew this was going to be a special season, but not too many expected us to be 10-0 at this point. So here we are, against a team that has beaten us up the last four years. Going against a quarterback who had one of the biggest games of his career against us last year.

We knew that in order to go undefeated, win the MAC title and maybe get to a BCS game, the road went through Mt. Pleasant. We've been pointing to this game since the shit-stomping against Indiana University.

It's here.

The biggest game in the history of Ball State football. Against one of our own sworn enemies. Against a school who somehow feels they have a superiority complex against us. Somehow the Chippewas think they can just walk onto the field and automatically beat us.

Apparently they haven't got the memo about this Ball State team. Our offense can score points practically whenever it wants. That's no surprise. But what will surprise you tonight is our defense. It is much improved from team's of years past. This defense has playmakers. They force turnovers. They don't give up as many rushing yards. They don't give up the points.

That's the biggest difference from last year. Our defense is good. Very good. Go ahead and underestimate them. They'll make the difference tonight.

Ball State, this is it.

It's the game we've been waiting our entire lives for.

The biggest game in the history of Ball State football. It's historical significance is not lost on the seniors. They've been here for five years now. The games against Iowa and Auburn, that was all for this. That's why you saw the field as a redshirt freshman. So when we got to this moment, we'd be ready for our best game on the grandest stage.

It's all out there. The heartbreaker against IU in 2006. 1st and goal at the 2 against Michigan. Ray Rice. This has all been building up to this point. We learned from these mistakes.

It's shown throughout the first 10 games of this season. Size, experience, smart football, yards per game, point allowed, we outrank Central Michigan in every aspect. We win this game on paper. Unfortunately, it's not won on paper.

Represent yourself, represent the school and represent the team as you march out and try to turn away the naysayers one more time.

Fight.
Team.
Fight.
For.
Ball.
State.
