BSU drops from 14th to 17th in the BCS

If that's not a kick in the nuts I don't know what is.

My biggest issue with this drop is that the Cardinals got passed by a TCU team that's already lost twice. How in the world do we drop from 14th to 17th while TCU goes from 18th to 16th?

Look, I get it. Our schedule wasn't very good this year. We've had to defend this fact for God knows how long. It's not like Ball State plays crappy teams year in and year out. This is the first time we've played this easily a schedule in who-knows-how long. Of course, this happened in a year in which we're on the cusp of the BCS and have the best team in the history of Ball State football.

That's what makes this all the more painful.

I don't think our BCS chances are completely out the window, but they certainly look bleek. We knew that when/if BYU beat TCU, there's a chance BYU would come back and pass us. And as much as that sucks, that's exactly what happened. Now, how TCU re-passed the Cardinals is an explanation I'm still waiting.

Two weeks ago, we talked about how we needed a lot of things to happen. Well, slowly, they were happening, and now...it just feels like it's all out the window.

Of course, all that's thrown out the window if we lost to Central Michigan and/or Western Michigan (or the MAC title game). But this was uite the death knell for those of us who were hoping, wishing, wanting a trip to Miami.
