Who's that Jones'n on the court for Ball State?

Oh, that's Jarrod Jones. The true freshman had a marvelous first game, getting 21 points and 13 rebounds as the Cardinals defeated Eastern Illinois, 72-59.

The score is definitely a little misleading, as the Cardinals were up 20 points or so for most of the second half.

What's not to like about Jones? He's 6-foot-9, for starters. So wait, you're telling me we have an athletic big man who can score points? Get outta here! 7-of-11 from the field, 7-of-10 from the free-throw line...AND...3 steals just for show.

Only 3,874 peeps there. Sad day.

But senior stud Anthony Newell wasn't far behind as he scored 19 and finished with six boards. No one else was in double figures, but Laron Frazier added nine and Brawley Chisholm eight.
